ck Butte Ranch is an ideal stay and play destination located in
the heart of Central Oregon. Situated beneath the Cascade Range,
just eight miles northwest of Sisters, this incredible resort offers two
impressive courses from which to choose— Big Meadow Golf Course
and Glaze Meadow Golf Course.
Big Meadow, designed by Robert Muir Graves in 1970 and renovated
in 2008 by Damian Pascuzzo, presents generous fairways, accessible
greens and panoramic views of neighboring Mount Washington, Three
Sisters and Broken Top. Glaze Meadow offers a test that will appeal to
fans of both classic and modern golf design, with five sets of tees on
every hole to accommodate players of all skill levels. Originally opened
in 1978, the course went through a dramatic overhaul in 2010 and 2011,
removing dense forest overgrowth, re-routing holes and installing state
of the art irrigation. Following the roughly $3.75 million project, the
work was recognized by Golf Inc. Magazine as the 2012 Renovation
of the Year. Outdoor pursuits including fishing, horseback riding and
hiking complement the golf experience at Black Butte Ranch, and there
is a sense of calm that accompanies all who visit.
