TRAVEL OREGON

W ith a variety of terrain and climates, an abundance of majestic scenery, and some of the finest courses to be found anywhere,
Oregon has developed a firm grip as one of the top golf destinations in the country. In fact, Golf Digest often ranks Oregon in
the Top 5 States to Play Golf.
And within Oregon, you’ll find three of Golf Digest’s Top 100 Greatest Public Courses in the high desert of Central Oregon—the Jack Nicklaus
Signature Course at Pronghorn at #28, the Bob Cupp designed Crosswater at #49, and David McLay Kidd’s links-style routing at Tetherow at #66.
Central Oregon, which in and of itself is ranked among Golf Digest’s top 25 golf destinations in the world, boasts more than two dozen spectacular
courses on the Central Oregon Golf Trail.
Comprised of high desert, lakes and rivers, and mountain peaks, the communities of Bend, Sunriver, Sisters and Redmond and their surrounds
support some of the best golf in the country—maybe even the world. Central Oregon’s location on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains results
in weather that is predominantly dry and sunny. As a result, and as a surprise to many visitors, the region’s annual precipitation is actually less than
that of Los Angeles and it is truly possible to golf every single day of the year here.
If you should tire of the greens, know that the region’s world-class golf is just the beginning. With a reputation as an outdoor adventure paradise,
Central Oregon offers countless trails, rivers, lakes and mountains to explore between rounds. Biking, fly-fishing, hiking, kayaking, and even skiing
depending on the time of year are just a few of the activities that draw visitors year after year. With nearly two dozen microbreweries and counting,
the region is also celebrated as the Northwest’s craft beer capital.
These are just some of the many factors that make Central Oregon the perfect golf destination no matter the demographics of your traveling
group. Annual guy’s getaway? Golf until your heart is content and then sign up for a guided fly fishing trip or hit a few of the local microbreweries.
Traveling with the family? Hit the course in the morning and then enjoy an afternoon bike ride or hike with the family before a casual meal at one
of Central Oregon’s many world-class restaurants. Perhaps the occasion is a corporate getaway? Take in some team building on and off the course
with a day made up of golf capped by a white water rafting trip, an outdoor concert at the Les Schwab Amphitheater, or a group outing on the
popular Cycle Pub.
One advantage is that getting to Central Oregon is easy. Visitors can fly directly into the Redmond/Bend Airport (RDM) from most every
major city in the west. Or drive—no matter from which direction you come, the scenery is beautiful.
