Wolf Creek Golf Club dations and…of course…the golf.
Wolf Creek Golf Club (www.golfwolf-
creek.com) is Mesquite’s version of roller
coaster golf. The course, which reaches
6,939 yards from the tips, winds over,
around and through the hills of Mesquite.
With elevated tee boxes giving way to lush
green fairways far below, accuracy off the
tee is a must and driver isn’t always the
club of choice. Add in about 100 bunkers
to the elevation changes and you’ve got
a course that will require players to think
their way around the course.
LAS VEGAS
Whatever you call the three Pete Dye golf
designs at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf
Resort (www.realpuregolf.com), im-
pressive should be on the top of the list.
Located in northwest Las Vegas, the golf
resort is home to the Snow Mountain, Sun
Mountain and Wolf courses. “It’s 54 holes of
championship golf…it’s as simple as that,”
says Chad Gunier, general manager. “They
are all Pete Dye designs, complete with the
railroad ties. It’s must-play if you’re playing
golf in Las Vegas. We have some of the best
conditioning anywhere and with 54 holes,
there’s a lot of variety out here.”
Located in the heart of fabulous Las
Vegas, Spanish Trail Country Club
(www.spanishtrailcc.com) features 27
golf holes (three nines including Sunrise,
Lakes and Canyon). The Sunrise Course
stretches out to 3,426 yards from the tips
and the finale, the ninth hole of this nine,
will impress players. The Lakes Course
features water on six of the nine holes with
the 3rd hole, a 180-yard, par 3, as its center-
piece. The Canyon Course, with rolling hills
and lakes, unveils the toughest challenge of
the three designs.
Silverstone Golf Club (www.silver-
stonegolf.com), in northwest Las Vegas,
brings the desert, mountains and valley
together with 27 holes of golf excellence.
In fact, the nines—Desert, Mountain and
Valley—offer as much variety as the course
names. Rolling fairways, large greens and
perfectly placed bunker and water features,
Silverstone will test players from any set
of tees. “With three different nines, golfers
can play six different course combinations,”
says Silverstone’s head golf professional.
