Based on true events, The Last Train to London tells the story of a Dutch-
woman working with British and Austrian Jews, facing down Adolf Eich-
mann to rescue thousands of children from Nazi-occupied Vienna. After
Britain passes a measure to take in child refugees, “Tante Truus” dares
to approach Adolf Eichmann in a race against time to bring children like
Stephan, his brother Walter and Žofie-Helene on a perilous journey to an
uncertain future. Meg Waite Clayton’s screenplay for The Last Train to
London was chosen for Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, and was spon-
sored by The Writers Lab. Tickets to this 7:00 p.m. event on Zoom are $10
per household (or $18 for all four February author events). For admission

A Bintel Brief with the Asolo Repertory Theatre
The Asolo Repertory Theatre will present A Bintel Brief, bringing to mind
the many problems and obstacles facing our turn-of-the-century immigrant
ancestors from Eastern Europe. For more than 80 years, the Forward’s leg-
endary advice column, “A Bintel Brief” (“a bundle of letters”), dispensed
shrewd, practical and fair-minded advice to its readers. Enjoy this theat-
rical reading of actual letters interspersed with Yiddish music. The event
begins at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. Fill out the form on templebethsholomfl.org
for the password and link. No cost, but donations are always appreciated.
