“Jewish Resistance in the Holocaust”
Hannah Szenes was born in 1921 in Hungary. She became a Zionist and
moved to Palestine in 1939. In 1943, Szenes joined the British Army and
volunteered to parachute into Europe in an attempt to aid beleaguered

1944. At her trial, Szenes staunchly defended her activities, refused to
request clemency, and was later executed at age 23. While imprisoned,
