Vidant Health Benefits Guide
Disability
The disability beneits consist of a Short-term Disability (STD) Plan, Long-term Disability (LTD) Plan, and a Sick
Leave bank for certain eligible team members. The plans work together to replace a portion of your income when
you are on an approved absence from work for your own serious health condition. Only for Annual Enrollment
2021 you can select a disability plan without submitting Evidence of Insurability (EOI).

Sick Leave Full-time and part-time members receive
a beneit for income replacement
based on accumulated hours prior to

Income replacement at 100%

(STD) 15/11 has a 15-day elimination period
and pays up to 11 weeks of beneits
30/09 has a 30-day elimination period

Replaces 50% of your pre-disability pay
($1,000 per week maximum)
Long-term Provides coverage after a 90 day
Disability elimination period
(LTD) Replaces 50% of your pre-disability pay

* NOTE: If you become disabled during the irst 12 months of coverage
due to a pre-existing condition, the disability plans may not pay
