be available Monday through Friday to take
your calls. Remember, if you do not actively
enroll in any coverage, you will not have any
beneits for the 2021 plan year. Failure to enroll
will be considered a waiver of coverage.
To Enroll
Call 855.306.8106
M–F, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET
Or go online: abm.hrintouch.com
SSN Required for Enrolled
Dependents
In order to comply with the Afordable Care
Act (also known as healthcare reform) and
regulations from the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services (CMS), ABM is required
to collect the Social Security number (SSN)
for all dependents enrolled in a company
sponsored group health plan. Having a valid
SSN for all enrolled dependents will also help
ensure dependent medical claims are properly
processed in a timely manner. The collection
and use of SSNs is limited by federal and
state laws and regulations. When an SSN is
used for protected health information (PHI),
HIPAA privacy rules dictate who can collect
the information, how it can be used and with
whom it can be shared. With these rules,
collection of SSNs for reporting to the IRS and
CMS are considered a required, legitimate and
necessary use of the SSN under federal law.
