H.E. emphasized that nurturing sports talents is a national project that requires an integrated
institutional approach based on partnership and shared responsibility among all

stakeholders. In this regard, the Dubai Sports Council organises 13 championships and
competitions across 22 sports, involving 395 sports academies across 9 age categories, with

participation from 908 teams and over 25,000 athletes, both male and female, further
reflecting the Council’s depth of investment to establishing a solid and sustainable sports

foundation, and reaffirm the Council’s approach to discovering and nurturing talent in line with
the highest standards.

He concluded: “Joint efforts with our partners in this key sector serve as a catalyst for
achieving measurable, exceptional milestones and a driver for enhancing the competitiveness

of Dubai and the UAE regionally and globally. The Dubai Sports Council will continue to support
the national directions led by the Ministry, and to activate the outcomes of this event through

clearly defined, impact-driven programs that strengthen the leading role of the sports
ecosystem and align with the aspirations of our wise leadership and the vision of ‘We the UAE

2031’.”

H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “The
‘Strategic Planning Session’ organized by the Ministry of Sports reflects the importance of
integrating national efforts to outline a clear path for the future of the UAE sports, in alignment

with the objectives of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision. This initiative is a key platform for
exchanging expertise and showcasing best practices, contributing to the development of our

sports ecosystem and strengthening its presence on the regional and global stage.”

Al Awani emphasized that Abu Dhabi Sports Council is committed to supporting the outcomes
of the session and translating them into practical plans and projects that enhance the

achievements of UAE sports and drive its journey toward excellence and leadership.

On the first day of the session, participants engaged in a series of workshops, fostering in-

depth discussions on the expectations and needs of partner entities for the upcoming chapter.
A wide array of innovative proposals was presented, aimed at launching joint initiatives and

future projects that build a fully integrated sports ecosystem, ensure long-term sporting
excellence and help the UAE attain global competitiveness and leadership in sports.
