The UAE grants first drone airspace certificate to Dubai Air
Navigation Services (DANS). This marks a major step in the
country’s aviation sector. The certificate was issued by the General
Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), making DANS the first licensed
drone airspace service provider in the nation.
In March 2025, the UAE introduced national regulations for
accrediting drone navigation providers. This certification is the first
real outcome of those rules. It shows how the country is building
strong systems to manage drone operations safely.
