12/4/24, 1:52 PM RTA confirms flexible Salik toll gate prices to be introduced in Dubai January 2025 | Time Out Dubai
The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai has announced that flexible toll gate pricing will be
introduced in Dubai in January of 2025.
Salik toll gates will soon have a variable pricing structure with the aim of improving traffic flow on the
busy Dubai roads.
Launching at the end of January, the new Variable Road Toll Pricing will range from toll-free passage
in the early hours of the morning to Dhs6 at peak hours.
Currently, the rate is a flat Dhs4 every time you pass through a Salik toll gate except for the toll-free
passage time on weekday evenings and all day on Sunday when cars pass under the toll gate at Al
Maktoum Bridge when the Floating Bridge is closed.
The pricing structure will be:
1am – 6am daily: Free
10am – 4pm: Dhs4
4pm – 8pm daily: Dhs4
Sundays (excluding public holidays, special occasions and major events): Dhs4
6am – 10am weekdays: Dhs6
4pm – 8pm weekdays: Dhs6
Dynamic Salik pricing has been in the pipeline since January of 2024, with the RTA posting on X
(formerly Twitter) that flexible rates were an option under consideration to tackle congestion.
Dubai to introduce variable parking tariffs
in March
The RTA has also revealed that a variable parking fee structure will be introduced in March 2025.
Premium parking spaces will now be Dhs6 per hour while other parking spaces will be Dhs4 per hour
during morning peak hours between 8am and 10am and evening peak hours of 4pm to 8pm.
The tariffs will remain unchanged during off-peak hours from 10am to 4pm and from 8pm to 10pm.
Parking will be completely free overnight from 10pm to 8am in Dubai and all day on Sundays.
