Dubai’s toll operator, Salik PJSC, has announced the activation of two new toll gates — one at Business Bay Crossing on Al
Khail Road and another at Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road. According to a Khaleej Times report, these new additions, set to
go live on Sunday, November 24, will bring the total number of Salik gates in Dubai to ten, further enhancing the emirate’s road
        management strategy.

Business Bay Crossing, a major route for motorists from Sharjah and Al Qusais, connects with the high-traffic Al Khail Road, and
the new toll is expected to reduce traffic on Al Khail by up to 15 percent and on Al Rabat Street by up to 16 percent. Similarly, the
Al Safa South gate will lessen right-turn traffic from Sheikh Zayed Road onto Meydan Street by 15 percent, improving flow in
the area and redistributing traffic across nearby streets.

Salik CEO Ibrahim Al Haddad also shared in a separate Khaleej Times report that both gates will primarily operate on solar
power, marking a first for the toll operator in line with Dubai’s green energy goals.

Meanwhile, Salik refuted rumors of a dynamic pricing model based on peak hours, emphasizing that any change to toll tariffs
would require approval from the Dubai RTA and Executive Council. Currently, all Salik gates charge a fixed rate of Dh4 per
        crossing, with no peak-hour adjustments.
