Promoting a Culture of Innovation and Scientific Research
His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi expressed pride in the award’s outcomes, highlighting its role in
promoting a culture of research and innovation while creating an environment that encourages creativity
within the Department. The award was designed to inspire employees to submit original studies and
practical projects with added value, aiding in the development of municipal services and supporting
sustainable development.

His Excellency commended the enthusiasm of the creative team and individuals with unique experiences
for their contributions to the inaugural edition of the award, which saw significant participation, as 16
employees from the Department submitted 19 varied scientific research projects. The evaluation
committee was composed of 13 members, including 6 faculty members from Ajman University and 7
employees holding master’s and doctoral degrees.

With the backing of several academic institutions, particularly Ajman University and City University, the
research topics spanned various fields, including public health, environment, advanced technology and
innovation, as well as infrastructure and service development.

100% Accepted Research

Dr. Sheikha Noura Al Nuaimi discussed the award, its objectives, and the various stages of work involved.
She clarified that the evaluation processes were conducted in collaboration with a specialized scientific
committee from Ajman University, adhering to strict standards to guarantee the quality and excellence of
scientific research outputs. She noted that the acceptance rate for submitted research reached 100%, while
95% of the research met the award’s criteria. Additionally, three specialized training courses in scientific
research were organized to enhance participants’ qualifications and improve their research efficiency.

Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed that the award signifies a robust beginning in fostering a culture of innovation and
scientific research. The Department will persist in its support for researchers and will enhance their
involvement in service development and in achieving the strategic objectives of the emirate.

Award Winners

The award revealed the winners of the top three positions, with Engineer Khamis Salem Al Matroushi
securing first place for his research titled “Prospects for Benefiting from Biological Detention Facilities in
Ajman.” The second position was awarded to Mira Abdullah Bushhab for her research titled “The Impact
of Implementing the Self-Control System on Food and Health Facilities in the Emirate of Ajman,” while
Miad Ali Al Mahri claimed third place for her research titled “The Impact of the Approved Terms and
Conditions of Leases on Enhancing Competitiveness.”

It is important to highlight that the Department reiterates its ongoing commitment to supporting research
initiatives and to enhancing the role of knowledge and innovation as essential instruments for service
development, in alignment with the emirate’s vision of constructing a sustainable future grounded in
science and national talents.
