1/22/24, 1:49 PM RTA Assigns Salik To Install 2 New Toll Gates In Dubai
Salik expects the new gates to cut traffic congestion on Al Khail Road and Al Rabat Street by up to
15% and 16%, respectively, while cutting right-turn traffic volume from Sheikh Zayed Road to

Meydan Street by as much as 15%.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) assigned Salik to install the two new toll gates.

Salik will oversee the construction and maintenance of the toll gates while acquiring the exclusive

right to operate them until June 2071, per the RTA's concession deal.

The toll gate operator said it would disclose more details about the required upfront valuation and

funding mix for the new gates after completing detailed traffic studies and agreement with the RTA.

“These two new gates aim to improve overall mobility throughout the city, facilitating smoother and
more efficient travel for road users,” said Salik CEO Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad.

        Financial results

During the third quarter of 2023, Salik’s revenues leaped by 14.2% on an annual basis, reaching
$138.58 million (AED 509 million), backed by higher toll usage income.

The company was officially listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) in September 2022 but
remained a state-owned firm, with the Dubai government owning a 75.1% stake.
