Business Group, aims to increase consumer demand for locally manufactured goods by
offering competitive prices.
The first edition of the market commenced at the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of
Commerce and Industry on Monday, featuring a variety of Ramadan products. The
market will run for the first two weeks of Ramadan, providing a platform for local
manufacturers to engage directly with consumers and strengthen confidence in UAE-made
products.
Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, highlighted the initiative's role in promoting
sustainable industrial growth and enhancing consumer trust. He said,
“This market exemplifies MoIAT’s efforts during the Year
of Community to promote local consumption and
competitively priced domestic products.”
Khalfan Ahmed Mesfer, Chairman of the UAQ Chamber of Commerce, praised the
initiative for supporting national economic growth and increasing awareness of the quality
of Emirati products. Additionally, Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al Kaabi, Secretary-
General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, emphasised the market’s
role in empowering local communities and fostering sustainable economic development.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to social
responsibility and the long-term impact of sustainable consumption.
MoIAT has also invited manufacturers to participate in the fourth edition of Make it in the
Emirates, scheduled to take place at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi from 19th to 22nd May 2025.
