DUBAI POLICE DISTRIBUTES 325K+ IFTAR MEALS FOR
ROAD SAFETY

Dubai Police has handed out more than 325,250 iftar meals to drivers during the holy month of Ramadan as part of
the “Ramadan Without Accidents” campaign. The aim of this initiative is to make the roads safer by encouraging
drivers to be more careful, especially just before Maghrib (sunset), when people often rush to reach their
destinations for iftar.

Focusing on a High-Risk Time
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, explained that many road
accidents happen during iftar time. As people hurry to get home or to restaurants, they sometimes speed or run red
lights, which increases the risk of accidents.
