Dubai to honour food outlets for

excellence in safety, nutrition

Submissions have opened for the first edition of a major initiative to honour food

establishments in Dubai for their excellence in standards for safety, nutrition, sustainability
and social responsibility.

Dubai Municipality said that the primary goal of its DM Food Elite Programme is to encourage food

outlets to continue surpassing and raising the standard of living in the emirate.

The programme will recognise food businesses operating in three distinct categories. Three

establishments each will be selected from independent dine-in restaurants; restaurants that are a

part of hotels; and fast-food outlets and cafeteria.

The outlets will be evaluated and selected based on five criteria, which include measures taken to

foster a robust food safety culture, commitment to nutrition, health and sustainability initiatives of the
