Dubai Municipality has unveiled its latest environmental innovation, the smart
marine scraper.

Developed locally by Emirati talents in collaboration with Al Khattal Boat Factory, this advanced scraper
represents a significant leap forward in the municipality's efforts towards environmental preservation.

Operated remotely, the smart marine scraper boasts unlimited range control and real-time monitoring
capabilities facilitated by satellite technology. Its sophisticated control system utilises 5G networks to
execute precise marine manoeuvres, ensuring effective waste collection.

Use of AI

The scraper's secondary systems include an intelligent marine survey system that identifies waste sites
and initiates the removal process. Additionally, an interactive external environment system enhances
marine safety by automatically preventing collisions. With enhanced productivity, the scraper can
efficiently collect and transfer up to 1,000 kilograms of floating marine waste.

The introduction of the smart scraper underscores Dubai Municipality's commitment to technological
innovation and the development of sustainable solutions to enhance municipal operations' efficiency.
Aligned with its waste management objectives, environmental preservation, and pollution reduction, the
