Dubai International Program for Writing hosts third workshop on

        illustrations for children’s stories

The Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW), an initiative of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF),
has launched the third edition of its ‘Illustrations for Children’s Stories’ workshop at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library. The program aims
to enhance the creative skills of young artists and strengthen the children’s publishing sector in the Arab world.

Led by illustrator Fatima Al-Amri, the workshop brought together emerging talents eager to refine their skills in children’s book illustration.
The training introduced participants to modern techniques in both traditional and digital formats, encouraging a hybrid approach that blends
the strengths of each style. A key focus was on maintaining the authenticity of creative expression while utilizing AI tools as supportive
        instruments.

        Developing Creative And Technical Expertise

The workshop covered a comprehensive curriculum that included character development, book and cover design, visual composition, and
digital illustration techniques to produce print-ready works. Participants also engaged in the analysis of renowned children’s literature,
broadening their perspectives on effective visual storytelling.

Al-Amri emphasized the importance of building well-rounded artistic skills. “The workshop was designed to include character development,
book design, and visual scene composition, while also introducing participants to digital techniques that align with professional publishing
        standards,” she said.

Enhancing Children’s Literature In The Arab World
The sessions incorporated both international and Arabic storytelling models within an analytical framework, allowing participants to explore
how text and imagery work together in children’s literature. Discussions also highlighted artistic trends that cater to the cognitive and
psychological needs of young readers, equipping artists to create meaningful and engaging illustrations.

Through this initiative, MBRF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the publishing sector and developing children’s literature across the
region. By integrating advanced training methods and technological tools, the foundation seeks to nurture a new generation of artists capable
of producing content that is both educational and visually captivating.
