The “In Arabic” initiative is one of the most prominent knowledge initiatives launched by the
Foundation. Through this, it aims to enhance the presence of the Arabic language globally. It
consolidates its use among young people on social media platforms and supports its position as a
tool for knowledge and innovation. Additionally, the initiative supports education by providing
specialized resources for teaching the Arabic language. This is especially important for non-native
speakers. The aim is to consolidate the language as a cultural and knowledge bridge that connects
generations to their civilization and ancient heritage.

Around the world

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Knowledge Foundation, said: “Our participation in the Istanbul International Arab Book Fair comes
as part of our endeavor to attend knowledge forums around the world annually. This participation
aims to promote our initiatives and projects on an international scale. Additionally, it supports the
dissemination of knowledge and contributes to the sustainable development of societies”.

He added, “At the Foundation, we are keen to provide global platforms for intellectual and cognitive
dialogue. These platforms provide everyone with the opportunity to learn about pioneering literary
and scientific productions. They also enhance opportunities for exchanging visions and
experiences between pioneers of thought and creativity from around the world”.

He said: “Through this participation, we seek to strengthen Arab identity and belonging to the
language, by consolidating its value among its speakers, and highlighting its aesthetics through
qualitative projects. These projects contribute to developing linguistic research and translating
international sources into Arabic. Consequently, this opens new knowledge horizons for Arab
youth”. We renew our commitment to supporting the Arabic language and stimulating innovation in
Arabic digital content. This commitment involves exploring opportunities for effective partnerships
in this field with institutions and entities participating in the exhibition.

The Foundation’s pavilion witnesses meetings with parties concerned with the Arabic language.
There are also knowledge activities organized in cooperation with the strategic partner “Istanbul
Academy”. This cooperation enhances opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experiences
in the field of knowledge dissemination.

It is noteworthy that the “Istanbul International Arab Book Fair” brings together under its umbrella
about 300 publishing houses from more than 20 countries. In addition, it includes a large number of
universities, schools, and civil society organizations. This fair represents the largest Arab cultural
knowledge event in Turkey. It is also the largest Arab book fair outside the borders of the Arab world,
accredited by the Arab Publishers Union.
