Smart technologies are turning conventional homes into interconnected ecosystems that can accommodate the evolving needs, tastes, and
habits of residents. Rapid developments in artificial intelligence (AI|), sustainable design, and the Internet of Things (IoT) position smart living
to provide unmatched convenience, energy efficiency, and improved quality of life for residents.
The UAE’s dedication to sustainable urban development, as stated in the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and other technological
advancements are expected to propel the country’s smart home market to new heights. Between 2024 and 2029, market revenue is
estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.99 per cent, reaching a total value of USD 122.9 million by 2029.
This is because a sizable majority of consumers today are willing to pay more for sustainable and technologically advanced living solutions.
Convenience, efficiency, and sustainability are given top priority in smart home technologies as a result of the growing demand for seamless
user experiences. As consumer interest in sustainable living solutions grows, businesses across various industries are adapting to address
these evolving expectations.
Smart homes outfitted with technologies such as smart thermostats, energy monitoring systems, solar-powered integrations, and smart
home security — comprising a range of connected devices that monitor, detect, and notify users of potential intrusions — are significantly
lowering the environmental impact of households. Automated lighting systems, such as those that adjust based on natural daylight, are
significantly contributing to lower electricity consumption.
More importantly, these developments support the UAE’s Green Agenda, which seeks to cut emissions by less than 100 kilowatt-hours by
2030. In addition to helping the country reach its sustainability targets, these innovations assist residents in reducing their operating
expenses and establishing more energy-efficient living conditions.
Wellness innovations like air quality monitors, noise cancellation systems, and smart beds are other examples of urban features that
emphasise the well-being of individuals within homes. These elements appeal to an increasing number of modern customers who value
leading healthy lives, especially those who reside in metropolitan areas. Likewise, the smart home industry is pushed by seamless
connectivity and automation, which guarantee interoperability between devices for users. Customers can now design and customise their
smart living spaces with greater freedom, thanks to the ease with which smart devices can now be integrated.
