Miqyas Al Dhad partners with Diglossia to enhance Arabic literacy

measurement across the Arab world

Miqyas Al Dhad, a pioneering Arabic reading scale, has entered into a strategic partnership with Diglossia, a leader in Arabic language
assessment, to advance literacy measurement and promote data-driven learning outcomes across the Arab world.

Under this collaboration, Miqyas Al Dhad will serve as Diglossia’s designated Arabic reading scale, integrating its scientifically validated
framework into Diglossia’s suite of digital literacy and assessment platforms. The partnership is also supported by MetaMetrics, the global
developer of the Lexile® Framework for Reading, which underpins Miqyas Al Dhad. MetaMetrics will conduct a linking study to align
Diglossia’s assessments with the Miqyas Al Dhad scale, ensuring consistency with global standards while preserving the unique linguistic
features of Arabic.

The initiative aims to empower Ministries of Education with a unified, evidence-based framework to assess reading proficiency and text
complexity. By linking a student’s reading ability with appropriately leveled texts, educators and policymakers can address learning gaps,
personalize instruction, and promote literacy growth effectively.

Through this collaboration, Diglossia will embed the Miqyas Al Dhad reading scale into its TALA® assessment and other platforms, giving
schools and education authorities access to data-driven insights that guide reading instruction and content selection.
