Initiative Committee hosts Andalusian

Stanzas Night

BU DHABI, 15th November, 2023 (WAM) -- The ‘Andalusia: History and Civilisation’
Initiative Committee organised the Andalusian Stanzas Night titled ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl
bil Andalusi’ at the Emirates Palace Auditorium on 12th November.

This captivating event, a key component of the initiative's comprehensive art
programme, showcased a mesmerizing collection of the most renowned Andalusian
stanzas.

The Andalusian Orchestra was held in the presence of Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic
Adviser to the UAE President; Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of ‘Andalusia:
History and Civilisation’ Initiative Committee; and Dr. Abdullah Maghribi, Under-
Secretary for Studies and Research Sector at Ministry of Presidential Affairs, in addition
to a diverse group of Andalusian arts audiences.

The concert featured a large music band, comprising 65 vocalists and musicians, which
was directed by Maestro Ghada Harb. The audience was treated to an enchanting
evening that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Andalusia through its distinctive and
soul-stirring stanzas.

Chairman of the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilisation’ Initiative Committee, expressed his
delight at the resounding success of the ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’ night. “The
event holds significance as it provides a platform for the exquisite Andalusian stanzas to
showcase their unique artistry within the context of Andalusian culture.

The event seamlessly complemented the broader artistic programmeme of the
"Andalusia: History and Civilisation" initiative, a celebration of the artistic legacy of
Andalusian civilisation and its profound impact on the renaissance of art, literature, and
culture,” he added.

The ‘Andalusia: History and Civilisation’ is a pioneering large-scale initiative aimed at
strengthening relations between the UAE and Spain. It also seeks to familiarize the
public with the rich history and civilisation of Andalusia through a diverse programme of
artistic and cultural seminars, as well as events that vividly reflect the essence of
Andalusian heritage.
