The UAE's unified registry for family businesses has started accepting applications from
family-owned companies.

The registry, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy, serves as a database

containing all information related to family-run companies in the country.

It was launched in December last year as part of efforts to strengthen the governance of these
businesses and support their continuity.

To complete the registration process, companies are required to submit an initial request to the

licensing authority that issued their economic licence.
