Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said the tenth edition represents a defining
moment for the initiative:

“Knowledge Summit 2025 crowns a decade of impactful achievements and
reinforces our vision of knowledge as a tool for empowerment and progress.

Announcing this milestone edition from New York underscores its global
significance and our continued commitment to advancing sustainable
development and human capacity through knowledge.”

Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of

UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Arab States, emphasized the transformative
potential of knowledge-driven economies, stating:

“Knowledge is the foundation for building just, inclusive, and sustainable
societies. At UNDP, we view knowledge markets as key enablers that empower
communities, bridge divides, and equip nations to address global challenges,

from climate change to digital transformation.”

The Knowledge Summit 2025 will also feature several engaging side events,
including the Authors’ Corner, Knowledge Markets Exhibition, Knowledge
Café, and a Policy Roundtable, fostering interactive discussions and

collaborative initiatives.

A highlight of the event will be the launch of the 2025 edition of the Global

Knowledge Index (GKI) — a flagship initiative by MBRF and UNDP that
measures knowledge trends across economies and societies worldwide,
supporting evidence-based policymaking.

Dr. Hany Torky, Chief Technical Adviser and Knowledge Project Lead at

UNDP, noted that the updated GKI reflects extensive consultation with global
experts:

“The new edition of the Global Knowledge Index has been redesigned to align
with rapid shifts in technology, the digital economy, and climate change. It will
offer deep insights to help countries craft forward-looking, sustainable policies.”

This year’s Summit comes at a crucial time, as the world navigates profound
