       GAS signs MOU to foster growth of sports cadres

       DUBAI: The Gen eral Author ity of Sports (GAS) has signed a memor andum of

       under stand ing (MOU) with the National Olympic Academy and the UAE Sports

       Sci ences and Sports Medi cine Cen ter to strengthen e orts in devel op ing and
       enhan cing sports cadres in the sec tor.

       This is in line with the ‘Prin ciples of the 50’ which focuses on encour aging

       more invest ments in devel op ing human cap ital, pro mot ing the exchange of
       expert ise and know ledge in sports and its applied sci ences.

       This fur ther aims to foster col lab or a tions between sports insti tu tions,

       improve admin is trat ive work, and raise a gen er a tion that leads the future of
       the sports sec tor.

       The agree ment was signed by Omar Abdulrah man Al Ali, Dir ector of Lead ers

       Qual i  c a tion Centre, rep res ent at ive of the GAS, Mohammed bin Dar wish,
       Exec ut ive Dir ector of the National Olympic Academy, and Abdulla Meyiwa,

       head of the interim man age ment com mitee of the UAE Sports Sci ences and

       Sports Medi cine Cen ter.

       The MOU was signed in the pres ence of Saeed Abdul Gha  ar, Sec ret ary-gen -
       eral of the Gen eral Author ity for Sports, and Eng. Azza Bint Sulai man, Assist -

       ant Sec ret ary-gen eral for Admin is trat ive and Fin an ciala  air softhen a tion -

       alolympic com mitee.
       Gha  ar said: “Through this MOU, the Author ity aims to fur ther col lab or ate

       with its part ners and strengthen its e orts in advan cing the sports sec tor as

       well as enhance its admin is trat ive mech an isms by boost ing the cap ab il it ies of

       all admin is trat ive cadres. The agree ment tar gets to develop work mech an -
       isms,pro motead min is trat ive devel op ment, as well as foster an envir on ment

       that drives excel lence and advance ments in the sec tor. Fur ther more, the

       Author ity strives to con sist ently keep pace with the recent inter na tional stud -
       ies and adopt them, in order to empower new cadres and make them well-

       pre paredto hold lead ing pos i tionsin the sector.”

       Azza stated that this MOU re ects the stead fast com mit ment to pro mote the
       admin is trat ive sys tem of sports sec tor.
