Dr Naseem said: “Dubai Municipality utilises advanced occupational health and safety
management systems across the UAE. Further, the municipality uses meticulously
designed procedures, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all
municipal employees and its service recipients. The event reaffirms our long-standing
commitment to developing a sustainable health and environmental system, aimed at
making Dubai the premier sustainable and well-being-centric destination. Moreover, it
furthers our wise leadership’s vision to position Dubai as the best city to live and work in
the world.”
Agenda
The Health and Safety Week, which takes place from April 29 to May 2, will feature talk
sessions on the impact of climate change on occupational health and safety, and
provide insights into the future of occupational health and safety. It will also include
presentations on best health and safety practices, as well as workshops exploring first
aid methods and critical risks that could impact workplace safety.
An accompanying exhibition will feature specialised health and safety companies
offering medical examinations to employees, while workers’ awareness workshops will
raise awareness on mandatory safety procedures and workers’ rights.
Representatives from key government organisations such as the International Labour
Organisation (OSH), the Dubai Health Authority, the Ports, Customs and Free Zone
Corporation, Drydocks World, the Permanent Committee of Labour Affair in Dubai, and
Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, will be taking part in the event along with
private partners.
