Statement by H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi ,
Director General of the Family Development Foundation
On ‘ Zayed Humanitarian Day ’
H.E. Al Rumaithi:
“Sheikh Zayed has fostered a culture of giving and established a nation built on the
principles of tolerance.”
H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumathi, Director General of the Family Development
Foundation (FDF), emphasised that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s exemplary
humanitarian efforts have spanned numerous countries for several decades. Her Excellency
added that his various large-scale projects, programs and initiatives have become a profound
legacy for the UAE, focused on human development, supporting those in need, and ensuring
a dignified life for all. H.E. added that this legacy serves as a guiding light for future
generations, as his humanitarian endeavours were rooted in the noble principles that paved
the way for a nation built on tolerance, coexistence, and respect for human rights.
On the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Day, Her Excellency stated: “Sheikh Zayed devoted
his life to serving humanity. No borders or barriers hindered him from assisting those in need
worldwide. He never discriminated based on race, religion, colour or gender. His
humanitarian initiatives and remarkable stances were globally acknowledged, leaving behind
a legacy of generosity and giving that continues to benefit nations and individuals through
several projects and assistance.”
H.E. Al Rumaithi further highlighted that Sheikh Zayed instilled a deeply ingrained culture
of giving, establishing the UAE as a global leader in humanitarian efforts. H.E. added: “This
approach has been carried forward by the wise leadership, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed
bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who continues the path charted by the late Sheikh
Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in offering local and international humanitarian and relief aid.
