Over the past decade, the construc on industry has undergone a rapid transforma on from manual methods to
technologically advanced opera ons. A career in architecture and construc on offers a diverse range of job opportuni es,
ranging from designing buildings to managing construc on projects, while also offering a pla orm to foster crea vity,
problem-solving and innova on. However, we now see the use of advanced technologies as a cri cal component of global
development, which raises the ques on of what the job market will look like as technology advances.
The integra on of cu ng-edge technologies is closely linked to the future of construc on jobs. Robo cs, drones, building
informa on modelling (BIM) and augmented reality have already become increasingly prevalent on construc on sites, as
seen in testaments of mega projects across the region. Drones are used for surveying landscapes, robots are used for
complicated and repe ve tasks, as well as minimising human work and BIM makes collabora ve project management
easier. Technological advancements in construc on, therefore, have a significant impact on the careers of construc on
personnel.
There is no doubt that workers performing manual labour may be less needed in the future as robo cs and other
