ANNIVERSARY VW GOLF GTI WEARS BESPOKE

Half a century has passed since the VW Golf GTI first hit the road, and to celebrate the
anniversary Volkswagen has developed a limited-edition model, the Golf GTI Edition 50.
Bridgestone has engineered custom Potenza Race semi-slicks for the Edition 50 and is
supplying these as exclusive tyre for cars delivered with the optional GTI-performance
package.

The Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres are size 235/35 R19 91Y and feature Volkswagen’s
circle/plus sidewall marking, highlighting their exclusive development for this model.
Developed and produced in Europe, the Bridgestone Potenza Race fitment features a
high-grip compound with an optimised cavity profile for maximum dry performance, a tread
pattern designed to perform even in the wet, and a high-strength, lightweight casing to
reduce rolling resistance.

FASTEST VW AROUND THE NORDSCHLEIFE

Volkswagen unveiled the Golf GTI Edition 50 at last weekend’s 24-hour race at the
Nürburgring in Germany – where the exclusive model set the fastest-ever Nürburgring lap
time for a Volkswagen production model (until the order books open for the Golf GTI
Edition 50, the Nürburgring will officially list it in the “pre-production models” category)
earlier this year. The Golf GTI Edition 50 completed a lap of the 20.82-kilometre / 12.94-
mile Nordschleife in just 07:46:13.1. The record-breaking car wore the Bridgestone
Potenza Race fitment.
