COY18, Reinforcing Commitment to Climate

November 30, 2023: Alef Education, a UAE-based global leader in education technology, participated in the

18th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY18), showcasing its innovative Alef Metaverse, a
pioneering digital world that nurtures skill development and prepares students for future climate challenges.

The event was held at Expo City Dubai recently.

The participation of Alef Education at COY18 as a gold sponsor underscores its commitment to raising
awareness about climate change and promoting sustainable practices among the youth through its

innovative solutions that provide personalized learning experiences and data-driven insights.

Alef Education attended the opening ceremony of COY18, where the conference was officially unfolded in

the presence of prominent figures such as HE Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, Minister of
Climate Change and Environment, and HE Reem Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International

Cooperation. During the inaugural ceremony, distinguished leaders emphasized the pivotal role of the
community in nurturing environmental stewardship and empowering the younger generation with the

necessary knowledge and skills to address the complex challenges of climate change on a global scale.

As part of the company’s engagement at COY18, Dr. Tina Kapp, Head of Learning at Alef Education, hosted
a special session titled, ‘Inspiring and Involving Youth in Climate Education.’ Dr. Kapp led an insightful
discussion on strategies for engaging young learners in community action, both within school premises and

in broader community settings. The session emphasized specific tools aimed at enhancing youth
engagement and empowering them to take concrete actions for meaningful climate initiatives in both blended

and face-to-face learning environments.
