Hold on to your steering wheels, Dubai drivers, because there is only 1 month left until the city’s 10th Salik toll gate is
fully operational. One toll gate has already been positioned on Sheikh Zayed Road, between Al Meydan Street and Umm
Al Sheif Street, and is pending activation until November. Another gate is also set to open on Business Bay Crossing
along Al Khail Road. Come with me, and I’ll break down all the important details for you.

How The New Toll Gates Will Work

The Al Safa South toll gate operates similarly to the Al Mamzar North and South gates. If a motorist passes through both
the northern and southern Al Safa gates within an hour and in the same direction, they will only be charged once. Each
time a vehicle crosses a toll gate, RFID technology scans the vehicle’s Salik tag, and a toll fee of AED 4 is deducted from
                             the driver’s prepaid account.
Locations Of The New Toll Gates

Al Safa South Gate: For those heading towards Abu Dhabi, the toll gate is located just after the Dubai Water Canal
bridge, near the MedCare Orthopedics and Spine Hospital.
Business Bay Crossing Gate: Positioned on the other side of Sheikh Zayed Road for drivers heading towards Sharjah,
it can be found between United Arab Bank and Pupil of Fate Motors, just before turning onto Al Meydan Street.
