P. 80
The department aims to develop an integrated legislative framework regulating tourism, cultural,
and media activities, aligned with Ajman’s strategic vision. Key goals include building a competitive
ecosystem, promoting tourism and heritage, and enhancing Ajman’s cultural and media presence
locally and internationally.
Role in talent development and investment attraction
The department seeks to position Ajman as a global hub for tourism, culture, and media by
developing national talent for leadership roles and providing infrastructure to attract investment,
boost GDP, and promote cultural exchange and coexistence.
Headquarters and expansion
The department’s headquarters will be in Ajman city, with provisions for establishing branches or
offices inside or outside the emirate, subject to Executive Council approval.
Areas of responsibility
The department will oversee tourism policymaking, event management, licensing, facility
classification, and investment promotion. It will also handle cultural and artistic development,
heritage preservation, museum management, creative talent support, and safeguarding cultural
identity. In media, it will regulate activities, issue licenses, monitor content, support media
investment, and contribute to policy development.
Legal and regulatory framework
The law abolishes previous legislation related to the former tourism and culture departments, while
current regulations remain effective until replaced with provisions consistent with the new law. It
will take effect 90 days after issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
