It also includes co-organising conferences, workshops, and specialised training programs for
content creation, leveraging the printing and publishing assets of national press institutions.
Attending the signing ceremony were NPA members, including Hamdy Rizk, Amr El-Khayat, Osama
Abu Basha, and others, alongside a delegation from the Foundation led by Shamsa Al Baloushi and
Salem Al Owais.
During the event, a presentation was delivered outlining the authority’s vision and modernization
plans, followed by a similar presentation about the Foundation’s mission and landmark initiatives.
El-Shorbagy highlighted the solid ties between Egypt and the UAE, and voiced enthusiasm for
initiating a new chapter of collaboration with one of the region’s leading knowledge institutions. He
also emphasised the importance of joint projects that empower Arab youth and promote regional
knowledge production.
For his part, bin Huwaireb echoed the same sentiments, describing the partnership as a promising
gateway for impactful, knowledge-driven projects that strengthen Arab journalism, support young
talent, and elevate publishing standards. He praised Egypt’s historic intellectual contributions and
affirmed the Foundation’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the National Press Authority in
various fields.
The MoU also covers collaboration with the Foundation’s Digital Knowledge Center to promote
Egyptian publications, participation in the World Arabic Language Day, co-organizing a competition
for the best Arabic-language research in journalism, and expanding awareness of the Global
Knowledge Index. The parties also agreed to jointly host training sessions, educational content, and
youth empowerment initiatives, especially for young Arab journalists.
At the conclusion of the event, the two sides exchanged commemorative shields in recognition of
the new partnership.
