UAE Achieves Seventh Consecutive Term On ICAO Council,

Reinforcing Global Aviation Leadership

the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council for the seventh time in a row. This achievement was confirmed

during the 42nd ICAO Assembly session held in Montreal, Canada, from 23 September to 3 October 2025. The UAE's

success underscores its prominent role and global trust in the civil aviation sector.

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the GCAA Board, expressed pride in this
accomplishment. He stated: "This renewed success is a global recognition of the UAE’s journey in civil aviation and a

testament to the success of our strategy in building strong regional and international partnerships." The UAE's aviation

sector contributes significantly to its economy, accounting for around 18% of the national GDP.
