The third edition of the award concentrated on sustainability, particularly sustainable aviation fuel solutions. This aligns with

international goals for carbon neutrality by 2050. The UAE's role in fostering innovation and global cooperation was evident

through this initiative. The award is organised every three years in collaboration with ICAO, having been launched in 2016.

Winners in the Academic Research and Development category hailed from universities in Brazil, the United States, and

Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) secured victory in the Research Institutions category. These
achievements underscore the global reach and impact of the award.

During the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Abdulla Al Marri delivered an official
statement emphasising aviation as a bridge for human communication. He noted that under UAE leadership, aviation has

become central to national vision and global mission, with 189 air service agreements reflecting open skies as key to
shared prosperity.
