Asia rises with visa-friendly and family-focused options
Among Asian destinations, Guangzhou, China stands out with a remarkable +156.49% YoY increase
in searches. The surge is linked to China’s visa-free policy for Kuwaiti citizens, valid from June 2025
to June 2026, as well as cooler fall weather ideal for exploring tea markets and riverfront districts.
Phuket, Thailand continues to attract families during mid-term breaks, with searches up +22.43%
YoY. The island’s post-monsoon season offers calmer seas, comfortable temperatures, and an
appealing mix of Old Town heritage, markets, and island-hopping excursions.
Diwali-season travel boosts South Asia
Wego also reports that Kuwaitis are increasingly planning October trips coinciding with Diwali
celebrations (18–23 October 2025). South Asian destinations showing notable growth include
Kathmandu (+22.47% YoY), Chennai (+16.0% YoY), and Kolkata (+33.84% YoY), reflecting stronger
ties between Kuwait and the South Asian travel market.
As Kuwait’s outbound travel continues to diversify, Wego’s fall insights underscore a growing trend
toward off-peak, experience-driven travel, with Europe and Asia emerging as leading choices for
2025’s shoulder season.
