China-ASEAN Ties: 21st edition of expo expected to boost

The 21st China-ASEAN Expo is underway in Nanning, capital of southern China's Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region. This annual trade event brings together government
officials and exhibitors from China and ASEAN member countries, as well as
representatives from other regions. Yang Jinghao reports.

Creating a diamond crown new future, this is the theme, as well as the goal of this year's
China-ASEAN Expo. This signature bilateral trade event between the two emerging
economies kicked off in Nanning city on Tuesday. All ASEAN members are showcasing a
diverse array of specialty products at the event. This year marks the 50th anniversary of
diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and it has been invited as the guest
country of honor.

SYERIL ELENA, Malaysian Exhibitor "These are the products that are solely produced in
Malaysia. We have a skin care range. All our products are organic and chlorine free. I
believe there are a lot of products from Malaysia that are bound to less known in China.
We would like to create more connections with other distributors in China and hope to
bring in more Malaysia products."

For the first time, Gulf countries have been invited to participate, with the UAE acting as
the guest partner.

ABDULLA AHMED AL SALEH, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, UAE "China is
on top of trading partner for UAE for the last almost 20 years. What we see there is
potential for upgrading the level of cooperation between China and UAE in the future,
but additional to that, we have very strong partnership and the strategic relations with
ASEAN."
YANG JINGHAO, Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region "In addition to elements
featuring ASEAN countries, the event also showcases the latest advancements in
emerging fields, including digital technology, green low-carbon solutions, new energy,
and intelligent connected vehicles."

And Chinese enterprises are determined to unlock cooperative potential with ASEAN
countries in these areas.
