5/14/25, 11:43 AM Wilo and Masdar Sign Renewable Energy Deal in Dubai
Masdar will contribute clean energy knowledge, including renewable energy project developme
nt. Wilo will support the partnership through its systems for heating and cooling, as well as ener
gy-
saving water solutions. The companies plan to collaborate on projects that reduce energy use an
d increase access to clean electricity.
The Dubai facility operated by Wilo has been expanded. The plant is part of the company’s broa
der manufacturing and distribution network. It is positioned to serve markets across the AMEA r
egion — Africa, Middle East, and Asia.
This new agreement follows other recent projects in the UAE by Masdar. For example, Masdar su
pported a solar rooftop project on a logistics warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone. That project had
a 1.2-
megawatt peak capacity and was developed in partnership with a local logistics firm. It now sup
plies power directly to the warehouse, helping reduce diesel generator use.
In another initiative, Masdar partnered with a retail chain to install solar panels at five stores in D
ubai. The total installed capacity was 0.85 MW. These projects are not part of large utility-
scale developments but serve local energy needs. They have reduced reliance on grid power in c
ommercial areas.
Masdar is also developing a pilot battery storage system in Abu Dhabi for peak load manageme
nt, with 5 MW/20 MWh installed capacity. This project aims to support small businesses with en
ergy during high-demand periods.
