Ministry of Economy signs agreement with Nissan Middle East to
raise community awareness about importance of IP protection and
foster innovation and creativity

The Ministry of Economy has signed an agreement with Nissan Middle East to enhance
collaboration in knowledge exchange and support initiatives aimed at advancing the protection of
intellectual property (IP) rights. H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, witnessed
the signing of the agreement by H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for
Intellectual Property Rights Sector at the Ministry of Economy, and Thierry Sabbagh, Vice
President and Managing Director of Nissan Middle East.
This three-year partnership underscores a shared commitment to fostering an environment of
innovation and creativity while ensuring comprehensive protection for intellectual property rights.
The agreement will see the implementation of a series of community awareness initiatives
designed to cultivate a culture of IP rights protection, raise awareness about the importance of
respecting these rights, and drive progress and creativity across diverse sectors.
H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, emphasised that the UAE, driven by
the vision and guidance of its wise leadership, has successfully built a comprehensive ecosystem
to safeguard IP rights in line with global practices. “This ecosystem stands as a crucial foundation
