UAE And EU Discuss Strengthening Strategic

               Partnerships

Leaders aim to enhance economic ties and promote investment opportunities during Brussels
               visit.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the European Union (EU) are exploring opportunities to elevate
their strategic relations to new heights that meet the developmental goals of both parties. During
their visit to Brussels, UAE Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al
Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, met with senior EU officials to discuss ways to
               strengthen their ties.

This official visit included other Emirati delegates such as Saeed Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of
Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs, and Mohamed Al-Sahlawi, UAE Ambassador to
Belgium, the EU, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The visit not only reflects the growing
economic relations between the UAE and the EU, but also aligns with the UAE’s forward-looking
vision, seeking to establish itself as a leading global destination for trade and investment.

The strategic partnerships with EU member countries—totaling 27—are critical, especially given
that the EU accounted for 8.3% of the UAE’s total non-oil foreign trade in 2024, making it the UAE’s
second-largest trading partner. Ahmed Al Sayegh emphasized that the UAE believes strengthening
international cooperation is the best guarantee to address global economic challenges.

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi affirmed the robust economic and trade relations between the UAE
and the EU, highlighting the EU as a key strategic partner representing a major economic and
               industrial force.

This interaction highlights the UAE’s commitment to enhancing not only bilateral relations with
European partners but also its recognition of the importance of multilateral frameworks as they
               navigate global economic landscapes.
In summary, as the discussions unfold, the UAE is setting the stage for heightened engagement
with the EU to solidify its position in global trade and investment networks. Through these talks,
officials aim to tap into shared goals that could lead to mutual benefits for both the UAE and the
               EU.

To further encapsulate the significance of this endeavor, Ahmed Al Sayegh stated, “The UAE is
committed to strengthening international cooperation to address global economic challenges.” His
remarks reflect the broader sentiment of UAE leaders who see collaboration as essential for
               navigating an increasingly complex world.

This strategic dialogue not only underscores the UAE's proactive measures but also signifies the
EU’s role as a pivotal partner in the region’s economic development landscape. Such discussions
will likely lead to new avenues of collaboration, investments, and enhanced trade partnerships that
could create a ripple effect across both economies.
