The first-ever UAE-Lithuania Joint Economic Committee (JEC) was held in
Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on Thursday. Several government officials from
both countries attended. The committee was chaired by Ausrinė Armonaitė, the
Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania, and Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri,
the Minister of Economy.

The two nations decided to deepen their economic cooperation during the meeting,
focussing on a number of important areas including the new economy, travel,
tourism, aviation, entrepreneurship, SMEs, transportation, agriculture, circular
economy, innovation, food security, and space.
