        The frontline of e-commerce growth

E-commerce expansion has not only accelerated growth but has also posed unique

challenges and opportunities for logistics companies operating in the Middle East. The
spotlight on last-mile delivery efficiency echoes the industry’s consensus that
enhancing customer satisfaction, reducing delivery times, and optimising operational

costs are paramount in maintaining competitiveness and capitalising on the e-
        commerce wave.

While last-mile delivery takes the forefront, warehousing solutions and inventory

management technology jointly hold the second spot, each garnering 13% of the
votes. This highlights a growing recognition of the need for advanced warehousing and
inventory systems capable of supporting the dynamic nature of e-commerce. Such

systems ensure logistics operations can swiftly adapt to fluctuating demands, manage
stocks more efficiently, and reduce overheads through automation and data analytics.

Cross-border regulations received 11% of the vote, indicating that while they are a

significant concern, they are not perceived as the most pressing challenge brought
forth by the e-commerce surge. This aspect, however, remains a critical area for
logistics companies aiming to expand their e-commerce operations beyond domestic

borders. Adapting to diverse regulatory environments and optimising cross-border
efficiency is essential for tapping into the broader regional market.
