SHARE The Dubai Municipality has launched a campaign to clear out neglected vehicles from nine registration and
testing centres in the Emirate. Owners who have left their vehicles unattended for an extended period of time
have been issued warnings through alerts, posters, and text messages. The campaign targets vehicles
abandoned at various centres including Warsan, Qusais, Shamil Muhaisnah, and more. The response rate to
the campaign has been high, with 95 per cent of owners efficiently addressing the situation.
Authorities issue a warning to owners of neglected vehicles for a period ranging from three to 15 days,
depending on the location and state of the vehicle. If the vehicle is not cleared within the specified period, it
is towed to the impoundment yard in Al Awir area. Owners of Dubai-registered vehicles receive an SMS
notification before their vehicle is towed. They have the option to retrieve the vehicle before it is auctioned by
                 contacting the municipality.
A monitoring team, including members from the Roads and Transport Authority and a company tasked with
handling discarded vehicles, has been formed by the Dubai Municipality to track neglected vehicles and
equipment. This includes various types of vehicles such as light and heavy vehicles, locomotives, trailers,
and boats. The municipality reminds residents to find suitable parking for their vehicles, especially if they are
                 planning to travel.
It is crucial for owners to clear out neglected vehicles from registration and testing centres in the Emirate or
risk having them confiscated. The Dubai Municipality has taken action by issuing warnings and towing
vehicles to the impoundment yard if they are not cleared within the specified period. The high response rate
to the campaign shows that owners are efficiently addressing the situation and taking steps to resolve it.
Owners of neglected vehicles in Dubai are being given a warning period to clear out their vehicles from
testing centres. Failure to do so can result in the vehicles being towed to an impoundment yard in Al Awir
