Dubai: The Dubai Road Naming Committee, which assigns names to roads
and streets in Dubai, has launched the Street Designation Proposal platform

under the supervision of Dubai Municipality.

This platform allows the public to suggest names for roads and streets in
Dubai. The initiative aims to preserve the legacy of the past, promote

cultural heritage, stay aligned with future development, and highlight
significant achievements.

The platform, according to H.E. Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai

Municipality and Chairman of the Dubai Road Naming Committee, is a

component of the Integrated Committee’s plans and efforts to encourage
community participation in submitting suggestions for naming streets and

roads throughout the Emirate. This is in line with approved classifications
that seek to bring back historical names, emphasize national identity, and

highlight social and cultural traits that represent the history, heritage,
values, and social and cultural wealth of the emirate while also being

consistent with future development and direction.

Al Hajri stated that, “The new platform serves as a digital system, allowing
the public to suggest names for streets and roads across Dubai, keeping in

mind a comprehensive method and specific criteria that reflects our identity
and interrelationship between past, present and future of Dubai. It aims to
