The committee has also designed a method for proposing names based on specific classifications.
The classifications include names linked to Arabic and Islamic design and architecture, as well as

names associated with art, culture, and Arabic poetic prosody. It will also include the names of local
plants, trees, and flowers, along with the names of wild and marine birds. Additionally, the

classification encompasses the names of squares, forts, ancient castles, and archaeological sites.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Chairman of the Dubai Road Naming Committee, said in a statement that the project

aims to revive heritage names, highlight national identity, and social and cultural characteristics that
reflect Dubai's history and heritage. "It aims to revive valuable historical meanings, heritage, and
urban monuments, in line with Dubai’s leading global position and reputation," Dawoud Al Hajri added.
