The farm has rapidly become a leading green tourism destination,
contributing to the UAE’s growing list of scenic spots developed and
maintained by Emiratis.
Highlighted as part of the fifth season of the ‘World’s Coolest Winter’
campaign, under the theme of ‘Green Tourism,’ this initiative is a
collaboration between the Ministry of Economy, the National Agricultural
Center, and local tourism authorities.
The campaign aims to foster community engagement in sustainable farming
practices and boost tourism to sustainable agricultural projects.
This effort is in line with the UAE’s domestic tourism strategy, launched by
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President
and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish a
comprehensive and integrated national tourism framework.
Rare varieties
Mohammed Obaid Al Mazrouei's passion for farming began nearly a decade
ago, inspired by his father, a pioneer in the agricultural field.
Starting with just 200 rose plants, he dedicated his efforts and expertise,
gained from years of travel around the world, to create a garden exclusively
dedicated to roses and flowers. Today, his farm hosts tens of thousands of
roses, both common and rare varieties imported from countries like the UK,
Netherlands, Bosnia, and the USA.
These flowers are meticulously arranged across a flat area of approximately
564 square meters, surrounded by mountains on all sides.
The farm boasts a diverse selection of roses, including Snapdragons, Salvia,
Statice, Yarrow, Dara, Colorado, Larkspurs, Zinnia and Chrysanthemum,
among many others, in a stunning array of colours.
