The Economic Activities Platform offers a unified and standardised classification of economic activities
in alignment with international standards. By providing precise, updated information on laws and
regulations, the platform enhances transparency, streamlines procedures, and saves time for
government entities and businesses.

Participants were introduced to a range of features, including digital identity registration, access to
approved federal economic activities, and detailed activity classifications aligned with the Standard
Global Classification system. These classifications span various sectors, categories, and branches.
Hands-on practice sessions focused on adding, modifying, and removing activities, as well as utilizing

technological tools for data analysis and report preparation.

Integrated Services and Strategic Insights

The platform’s integrated services enable local authorities to submit economic activity requests for
licensing, showcase strategic activities within each emirate, and connect local activities with global
classification systems. These capabilities aim to foster collaboration and standardisation across the

UAE.

H.E. Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi highlighted the platform’s significance in boosting the National Economic
Register (NER), which serves as the UAE’s largest unified database of commercial licenses. By
connecting over 46 entities nationwide, the NER simplifies business establishment procedures and

integrates the Unified Economic Number (ERN), a federal identifier for enterprises and companies.
The ERN acts as a crucial link between federal and local entities, ensuring seamless cooperation.

Advancing the UAE’s Vision

The workshop underscores the Ministry of Economy’s commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure
and supporting the UAE’s strategic economic goals. Through initiatives like the Economic Activities
Platform, the UAE continues to advance its position as a global leader in digital transformation and

sustainable economic development.
