Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development
Sector at GAS, said the platform will create a comprehensive database of sports
talents in the UAE, accessible to all young talents. The initiative will increase events
for talent discovery and empowerment, supporting athletes aiming for the Olympics
and enhancing the success of Emirati athletes in international competitions. The
National Sports Strategy 2031 aims to qualify over 30 Emirati athletes for the 2032
Olympic Games.

The ‘Sports Talents’ platform’s key goals include identifying sports talents by age,
monitoring and documenting initiatives to empower sports talent, increasing
participation in talent programs, and developing a comprehensive database of
competitive sports talents. The initiative promotes collaboration among stakeholders
to ensure effective sports management and corporate governance.

The initiative focuses on early identification of talents, regular assessment of
progress, continuous development through training camps, and support for
participation in national and international events. GAS aims to position the platform
as a key contributor to national sports goals, nurturing talent through dedicated plans
and programs for outstanding sports results and raising the UAE flag in various
events.

The ‘Empowering and Sustaining Sports Talent’ project integrates with the ‘Talents’
project, conducting competitions, tournaments, and sports festivals to identify and
expand competitive sports talent.
