The UAE and EU’s Non-Oil Trade
Reached $67.6 Billion in 2024
Maroš efčovič, EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, was welcomed to the United Arab
Emirates by UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi for continued discussions on
the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and the EU.
In order to investigate prospects for further cooperation and investment flows between the EU and the
UAE, the visit also featured an investment roundtable with representatives from top private sector
businesses. With 8.3% of non-oil trade, the EU is already one of the UAE’s most important commercial
partners.
The non-oil trade between the two countries reached $67.6 billion in 2024, up 3.6% from 2023.
In terms of fortifying economic connections and opening up new channels for collaboration and trade, the
UAE-EU CEPA is set to be a landmark agreement. The deal will improve market access for goods and
services, encourage investment in important industries, and open the door for the elimination of trade
