Dubai announces 4-day work week, reduced hours this summer

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DHGR) announced on Wednesday (August 7) a trial
scheme reducing the work week to four days for government entities.
The pilot scheme called Our Flexible Summer will be applied to 15 government departments, whose employees
will only work seven hours a day, four days a week this summer. This means that holidays will now run from Friday
to Sunday.
The initiative will be implemented from August 12 to September 30. According to DHGR, the programme aligns
with goals under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
